Before we begin this article, we would like to ask you one question- What undergoes the maximum amount of wear and tear? Did you think of your phone? Or yourself? Well, you aren’t wrong, really. Getting through life to sustain ourselves with our jobs, household chores, family, and friends is no joke. For most of the day, our phone takes most of our stress- whether it’s a zoom call with our boss or simply killing time with Instagram browsing. However, suppose you are an avid adventure enthusiast and a proud owner of some unique survival equipment for safety. In that case, you will have to agree that it’s your premium survival gear that does some really rough work. Whether it’s to satisfy our penchant for a forest adventure, a mountain experience, or somewhere in the arctic wilderness, it’s the American EDC equipment we bought online that does all the tough and dirty work. Well, your survival gear needs a little bit of TLC and upkeep, too, so that the next time you plan for your thrilling escapade, it always has your back.

Your EDC Knife

Your everyday carry (EDC) equipment is more than a random assortment of pocket goods. It is a carefully curated collection of all the vital gear and tools you need to thrive in your daily ventures. Your choice of blade or knife is probably the one thing that equips you with everything you might need during your experience and guards you against any wild attack. From fashioning a rope, peeling a fruit/ vegetable, slicing meat, your knife is one essential item in your EDC kit. Here’s what you need to do to keep its condition intact:

Keep it sharp

Sharpen your knife as per its usage. Don’t go overboard with it. Also, you don’t need a fancy piece of equipment to sharpen your knife. It’s all about how you do it. Maintain the right angle and pull the right way. Stay consistent with it.

Keep it clean

Remove all dirt or debris that might have got stuck while using it. Use a soft rag cloth or an old t-shirt to clean every dust and sweat after every use. If it’s a switchblade, make sure you check for debris within its spring mechanism to ensure smooth operation.

Store carefully

Store it diligently and never put away a dirty or a wet blade. The mixture from water can eventually lead to rust and ruin your knife.

Your Med Kit

If you are going for a highly challenging survival venture, a medical kit becomes very important. Restock every item. Keep alcohol prep pads, an antibiotic ointment for any bacterial infection, ample bandages/ band-aids, bug wipes for insect bites, q-tips, condom, hydrocortisone against inflammatory reactions. You can even get a fully-equipped medical kit available in the market.

Your Survival Back Pack and Pouch

Wash your bag and sew up any rips or tears. Dry it well in the sun to get rid of any moisture, bacterial and moldy growth.
